Meet at the Student Center at 10:15 Saturday morning, wearing your walking shoes and carrying a jacket. Students who are interested should <b>sign up in Joy Carter's office</b>. We will take a bus (free of charge), or you can follow the bus in your car. If you plan to take the bus, be sure to sign up, because space is limited to 40 people. DuQuoin is located about 20 miles north of Carbondale, straight up Route 51, if you would prefer to follow in your car. Meet at the Student Center at 2:45pm, and remember to bring money to buy your dinner. We will leave DuQuoin at 9:00pm.<br /><br />What is the <a href="http://www.agr.state.il.us/dq/">DuQuoin State Fair</a>? It is an annual festival that includes carnival rides, various competitions, junk food (lots of this!), and entertainment. The entertainment will vary from a <a href="http://www.capitolint.com/Fairs/highdive/highdive.htm">high-dive stunt show</a> to many musicians, including the band <a href="http://www.smashmouth.com">Smash Mouth</a>.<br /><br />Here are the details again:<br /><br /><blockquote><em>What</em>: The DuQuoin State Fair, a festival with rides, games, music, and food.<br /><em>When</em>: Saturday, September 2nd.
