Trip to the DuQuoin State Fair

The first CESL student activity of the 2006-2007 school year will be a trip to the DuQuoin State Fair this Saturday, September 2nd. Students who are interested should sign up in Joy Carter's office. We will take a bus (free of charge), or you can follow the bus in your car. If you plan to take the bus, be sure to sign up, because space is limited to 40 people. DuQuoin is located about 20 miles north of Carbondale, straight up Route 51, if you would prefer to follow in your car. Meet at the Student Center at 2:45pm, and remember to bring money to buy your dinner. We will leave DuQuoin at 9:00pm.

What is the DuQuoin State Fair? It is an annual festival that includes carnival rides, various competitions, junk food (lots of this!), and entertainment. The entertainment will vary from a high-dive stunt show to many musicians, including the band Smash Mouth.
